1962 On 17th January James Eugene Carrey is born in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. Later known as Jim Carrey, he is one of the biggest comedians of the last decades.
1977 At only 15 years old, young Jim starts doing stand-up comedy.
1979 Carrey is discovered by the comedians Buddy Hackett and Rodney Dangerfield and gets invited to open their shows while touring.
1983 The actor moves to Hollywood, where he starts getting roles in tv shows like The Duck Factory. He also starts his comedy moments on The Tonight Show.
1978 Carrey marries Melissa Womer, with whom he has a daughter.
1991 The actor starts the live tv show Jim Carrey's Unnatural Act.
1994 Carrey gains international fame after playing in Ace Ventura – Pet Detective. The movie is very well received by the audience. The year is a very successful one, Carrey also starring in The Mask and Dumb and Dumber.

2003 Carrey plays among joacă Jennifer Aniston and Morgan Freeman in Bruce Almighty. The comedy sells for more than 484 $milion, becoming one of the best selling comedies of all time.
2004 Jim stars among Kate Winslet in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, a new selling success. The same year he gets a star on the Candian Walk of Fame in Toronto and becomes an american citizen.
